Virat Kohli and Kedar Jadhav hit centuries and combined in a 200-run stand to help India comfortably chase down a steep target of 351 against England and win the first one-day international by three wickets on Sunday.
India’s chase seemed over when England reduced them to 63-4 in the 12th over but captain Kohli and local boy Jadhav turned the match on its head with the hosts reaching the target with 11 balls to spare to take a 1-0 lead in the three-match series.
Former England captain Michael Vaughn could not stop gushing over Kohli’s stupendous record in run-chases.

The fans could just not understand how Kohli pulls it off time and again.
Why don’t you just admit you are an alien, Kohli? Why don’t you? Why? #INDvENG #Kohli #replug pic.twitter.com/GuHF54vCbg

Unbelievable. Is there anyone in team sport in the world that is dominating their profession as much as @imVkohli right now? A modern legend
— Stevie J (@StevieJ_23) January 15, 2017
@imVkohli quite simply the greatest one day batsman India has produced.

Just another day at work for @imVkohli. Brushed his teeth, had a shower, breakfast, century in a chase. Just another day really!

Consistently in awe of this man. I feel so lucky and privileged to commentate on his ridiculousness. That’s why I said 380 #kohli #engvind

Kedar Jadhav came in for his share of praise as well.
. @imVkohli & @JadhavKedar changed the momentum brilliantly & put the pressure back on Eng by playing some spectacular shots. #IndvEng

Kedar Jadhav ,take a bow.
An innings one dreams to play.#INDvENG— Mohammad Kaif (@MohammadKaif) January 15, 2017
Kedar Jadhav will be my Man of the Match. Not often you see someone overshadowing the class of Kohli in a run chase. Well played.

But the day did belong to Kohli, ultimately. Leading from the front as always.
