It’s been two generations since the first Star Wars movie released, and we just can’t wait for Episode VII to be running in our theatres! For the last 38 years, we have watched and re-watched the tales of the galactic empire, and we just can never have enough.
But the thing about fiction is that no matter what powers our superheroes have on screen, they still age in real life. With the Force Awakens all set to release in India on 25th December, this is the perfect time to see how our favourite actors have aged with time.
So, before you pre-book your tickets for the first show, here’s what our beloved characters look like – then and now:
This is Mark Hamill when he played Luke Skywalker in 1980 and now.
The young and fiery Jake Llyod, who played Anakin Skywalker in 1999, has grown up to be a cuter, more attractive Jedi warrior.
This is what Ewan Mcgregor – the great Obi-Wan Kenobi, looks like in the 2005 movie and now.
Hayden Christensen was my favourite. And Anakin Skywalker, has just grown to be hotter, sexier and hopefully stronger.
Back in 1977, David Prowse played Darth Vader. Can you believe this is him?

Natalie Portman of course is as gorgeous as ever. Look at her Padme Amidala – in 2003 and now.
Carrie Fischer, nailing the role of Princess Leia in 1977, now looks like this.
Look at the brother and sister duo. This is what Young Luke Skywalker and Princess Liea look like then and now.
Remember Denis Lawson playing Wedge Antilles in 1980? As ravishing in 2015, is he not?

Samuel L. Jackson rocked the part of Mace Windu. The Jedi now looks like this.
Ian McDiarmid still nails that evil look as Palpatine from 2005. Not changed much, has he?
Remember Chewbacca? Well, this is Peter Mathews, the man behind the creature’s mask in 1977 and now.
And this is the man behind our favourite C- 3PO Anthony Daniels, in 1999 and now.

This is Billy Dee Williams as Lando Calrissian, in 1980 and 2015.
And how could we forget R2-D2? Look at Kenny Baker, as R2-D2 in 1977 and in 2015.
Look at the evergreen Harrisson Ford who played Han Solo back in 1980. He sure does still make me skip a heartbeat!
And Liam Neeson, who played Qui-Gon Jinn, looks like this now.
