The Harry Potter franchise has been creating quite a stir these past few days. First, Rowling wished James Sirius a great first day at Hogwarts . Then, she followed it up by revealing his house. Then a few illustrations of the new Harry Potter illustrated editions were released.
And thus, every Potterhead has been elated for all the good reasons.
Until now. This person tweeted:
@Universe_Box One piece of Harry Potter trivia I always forget to mention: the “t” is silent in Voldemort, according to @jk_rowling .
— Michael Lucero (@mhenrylucero) September 9, 2015
What? We couldn’t have been pronouncing Voldemort’s name wrong all this while, right?
To which, J.K.Rowling replied:
… but I’m pretty sure I’m the only person who pronounces it that way. https://t.co/HxhJ5XY5HP

Okay, we doubt anyone was prepared for this piece of trivia 18 years after the first book got released, not to mention the 7 books and 8 movies in between!
And obviously, people were slightly taken aback, to say the least.
@jk_rowling my whole life is a lie

@jk_rowling @mhenrylucero @Universe_Box I’ve pronounced it with a T all my life. I am so sorry, Jo.

. @jk_rowling @mhenrylucero @Universe_Box for years I pronounced Hermione “Hermee-one”. Try that for embarrassing.

Then the man himself decided to join the conversation, even though he is as dead as a doornail. But death has nothing on him. And how could he let go of a chance to rebuke muggles?
@jk_rowling Muggles never listen https://t.co/at5koM4Wsq

This was a reference to an attempt he had made earlier to get his name straight.
Yo my names Voldemort & the t is silent, but don’t say my name or imma get violent. #FreestyleFriday

Well, we are just glad someone addressed one of the most crucial problems.
@ardit_haliti @jk_rowling THEN WHY, WHEN SHE HAD INPUT IN THE MOVIES, MAKE EVERYONE SAY IT WRONGGGGGG??
— Jess Ronson (@WeasleyRiddle) September 9, 2015
And this problem.
@jk_rowling but now I have to stop listening to all my @stephenfry audio books
— Pursuit of balance (@HealthyBalance8) September 9, 2015
Does it mean that they will remake the movies and the audiobooks to fix this?!
