What is adult life but the pursuit of happiness and a job. A job that not only pays the bills, but also doesn’t make you want to poke your eyes out at the end of the work day. Well, according to recent surveys, Facebook has been named the best place to work at in the United States of America. So understandably, their hiring process must be meticulous and super-selective to say the least.
But we’ve got an interesting piece of info for those trying to get their foot in the door (and honestly, even those who aren’t) of this highly sought after social media giant. As reported by Uproxx, Facebook’s global head of recruiting Miranda Kalinowski gave the world a sneak peek into their recruitment process and considerations.
And one detail that stood out was the way in which Facebook recruiters delve into “what a candidate is truly passionate about.” They do this by asking an applicant one simple question.
“On your very best day at work – the day you come home and think you have the best job in the world – what did you do that day?”
Off the top of your head, it could either be very easy to answer, or very difficult – even though there really is no right or wrong. If answered honestly, Kalinowski says the question elicits a “genuine expression of pride and purpose” in the candidate.
What would I have said? Easy.
Yep, I think it’s safe to say I wouldn’t hear back from them. *sigh* So, what would your answer have been?
