Serena Williams beat her elder sister Venus 6-4, 6-4 in the Australian Open final to win her 23rd Grand Slam title, which took her above Steffi Graf’s open era record of 22 majors.
The American sisters met for the ninth time in a Grand Slam final and Serena has now won seven of those matches.
And while Venus gave her all, Serena was simply too good – winning with relative ease – and without dropping a set in the entire tournament.
