A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the Philippines after he allegedly decapitated a woman and then ate her brain with rice.
This was after the local police found an unidentified woman’s partial remains on the island of Mindanao.
The arrest of Lloyd Bagtong, aged 21, shocked his entire neighbourhood as police disclosed the series of events.
Upon interrogation, the accused said he was drunk and hungry when the woman tried to speak to him early in the morning. He said he didn’t understand because she spoke in English and that irritated him.
According to the Daily Mail, the locals saw Bagtong walking with the woman close to the spot where the body was found.
Bagtong, as he told the police, killed the woman using a machete and chopped her head off. He then carried the head back home using a piece of cloth before eating the brain with rice.
Going into more disturbing details, the accused said he cooked rice before putting the woman’s brain on top as topping.
He confessed to have thrown her skull in a hole close to the house.
Bagtong, who is unemployed, has been sent for psychiatric evalutation.
The woman’s body was found topless with her hands tied. Police are still trying to identify the victim and have urged those with missing relatives or loved ones to contact them.
