The Belgian Malinois, a type of breed dog will now guard the Delhi Metro along with men from the CISF, reports the Hindustan Times.
With Khoj, the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) included a Belgian Malinois into their squad a month ago and have since then spent heavily on the dog’s training.
The breed, that shot to fame for assisting the US Special Forces to nab Osama from Abbottabad in Pakistan, will now join CISF in making Delhi Metro a safer place for commuters, reports ANI.
The Malinois, a litter of the Israeli male Malinois crossed with an American bitch, is preferred for patrol units, commando operations and difficult missions on harsh terrain.
CISF wants to use the breed to exclusively help them in stopping ‘fidayeen (suicide) attacks’ and are spending lakhs of rupees per month in training the dogs to sniff out any such danger.

Even though the CISF will recruit more dogs after Khoj later this year, the Belgian Malinois was first inducted by ITBP in 2011.
