The Google Year in Search gives us an overview of everything that was hot on the internet in the past year. Google Trends has released a list of the most searched people in India, and with 2015 being as eventful a year as it was, it’s no surprise that these 10 people made it to the list.
These are the 10 Indian people who have been searched for the most on Google:
1. Sunny Leone
Sunny Leone has been topping the list of most searched personalities on Google from India for four years in a row now.
2. Salman Khan
Replacing Prime Minister Narendra Modi at no. 2, Salman Khan was an obvious favourite on Google’s most searched list, with hits like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Prem Ratan Dhan Payo in his kitty, and with his acquittal in the long pending hit-and-run case.
3. APJ Abdul Kalam
Erstwhile President and scientist A P J Abdul Kalam, the Missile Man of India, passed away on 27th July this year, making him third on the most searched list.
4. Katrina Kaif
Bollywood actress Katrina Kaif retains a spot on the most searched list, three years in a row.
5. Deepika Padukone
With movies like Piku , Tamasha and the much awaited Bajirao Mastani to her acclaim, Deepika Padukone comes in 5th on the list this year.
6. Shah Rukh Khan
The Badshah of Bollywood consistently appears on the list, three years in a row.
7. Yo Yo Honey Singh
After 2013, the rapper most Indians have a love-hate relationship with, Yo Yo Honey Singh makes an appearance on the most searched list once again.
8. Kajal Aggarwal
After 2013, Telegu actress Kajal Aggarwal makes it to the list once again. She has appeared in Bollywood movies like Singham and Special 26 and in Tamil movies as well.
9. Alia Bhatt
After 2012 and 2014, Bollywood’s sweetheart Alia Bhatt makes it back on the list this year, riding on the success of Shaandaar .
10. Narendra Modi
From the second spot in 2014 to the tenth, Prime Minister Narendra Modi slid down the list this year.
