Katrina Kaif and Siddharth Malhotra’s Baar Baar Dekho has finally been given a ‘UA’ certificate by the censor board. But having a film passed by the current board without any cuts is rather rare. So while Baar Baar Dekho looks like a ‘clean’ film from the trailers and songs released so far, the infamous CBFC is on a snipping spree with this too.
The film had to have two cuts.
One was an apparently a shot of a bra which was asked to be removed.
“We don’t live in times where women’s innerwear is never spoken of in public. In fact, even as late as 1995, there was a scene featuring Kajol in Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge. Moreover, BBD is directed by a woman (Nitya Mehra). To assume she’d use the lingerie scene for titillation is absurd,” a source revealed to DNA.
The same report says CBFC demanded another cut, where there was a reference to Savita Bhabi ( a popular porn comic character).
The filmmakers have questioned how this was a problem while the mention of Sunny Leone wasn’t one in A Flying Jatt.
While some recent reports said the censor board might lose their censorship scissors, it seems they’re making the most of things until it’s implemented.
