“Three Rings for the Elven-kings under the sky, Seven for the Dwarf-lords in their halls of stone, Nine for Mortal Men doomed to die, One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie. One Ring to rule them all, One Ring to find them, One Ring to bring them all and in the darkness bind them In the Land of Mordor where the Shadows lie.”
– J.R.R. Tolkien’s epigraph to The Lord of the Rings .
So I’ve read The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings . Even watched both trilogies these books inspired and been a loyal fanboy for a good part of the last decade or so. And yet, when some non-reader asks me what is it the One Ring could actually do, my face has this expression that is a mix of confused and constipated. So, anyone who has similar questions or who is tired of having to explain the power of the One Ring to others, please watch this cool video. It will answer almost anything pertinent to the Rings of Power in Tolkien’s universe.
Also, it was quite nice of them to give a shout out to the much ignored Tom Bombadil (Why, Peter Jackson? Why?).
