There is a whole new world inside the sea which is fascinating and thrilling. But with scary creatures roaming about in the deep waters, one cannot say if it’s a safe place for someone who has accidentally fallen in there. But a 56-year-old Spanish fisherman sure had a miraculous survival, even after he became prey to a giant whale.
56-year-old Luigi Marquez lived to tell the fascinating tale of his survival, as he came alive after spending 3 days inside a giant whale.
The horrifying incident took place when Luigi went missing at sea, after a violent sea storm threw him off his vessel. When the coastal guards were unable to locate him during their search operation, which went on for days, he was considered dead.
But everyone was surprised when he miraculously turned up. He claimed that he was swallowed by a whale and spent three days inside its belly, before it flushed him out. “This great beast swallowed me the morning after the storm”, he said.
Clearly a fighter, Marquez managed to survive inside the sea-giant by eating raw fish. Recounting the scary experience, he said, “It is the most frightening thing I have ever lived. Everything was pitch black and I was shivering cold.”
“The only thing that kept me alive were the raw fish I ate and the light from my waterproof watch – that is how I kept in touch with time. And the smell, I will never forget that horrible stench of putrid decomposition. I had to wash for three days before the odor went away,” he said.
Marquez’s family was supremely happy to have him back. “This is truly a miracle! Saint Mary of Jesus has heard our prayers,” said Penelope, his wife.
