Imagine walking around all day in a dress that makes you smell like a dead rat, and then to experience something rubbing against your leg, only to discover that your dress is, in fact, accessorised with a rodent!
Cailey Fiesel’s Zara dress had a rat sewn into it and she is suing the Spanish retailer after making the alarming discovery.
According to the New York Daily News, Cailey Fiesel had purchased two dresses from Zara. After buying them, she hung them up in her closet. When the 24-year-old decided to wear one of them to work back in August, little did she know that she’d be carrying a dead rat with her.
In the report, the Manhattan Supreme Court lawsuit states:
While at work, she started to notice a disturbingly pungent odor and was unable to identify the source. Despite getting up from her desk and walking around, she was unable to escape this odor. As the day went on, Ms. Fiesel started to notice what felt like a loose string from her dress rubbing against her leg without giving it much thought she reached down with her hand to try and locate the piece of string that was rubbing against her.
Gross! We can’t even imagine this young woman’s plight. We’re all open to changes in fashion but a dead rat for an accessory is still not quite accepted. Especially, from a brand as reputed as Zara.
Zara has responded to the lawsuit saying that the company is “aware of the suit” and that they are “investigating the matter further.”
