There was a time when Himalayas were known for their pristine waters and untouched lands. But now things are taking a turn for the worse. Thanks to all the plastic disposed off by us almost everywhere, and Himalayas are no exception.
While we are still figuring out a way to get rid of garbage in the cities, and on the beaches, this video shared by Healing Himalayas, will jolt you from within.
It hardly rained in Himalayas and outcome is this. Who to blame us or them ? This is Ashwani khad and water supply source of Shimla & Solan. Very close to it is Solan cities solid waste dumpyard ( salogra) @RandeepHooda @jairamthakurbjp @ErikSolheim @deespeak @AUThackeray pic.twitter.com/FSZ3TJi2mB

A literal pile of trash is snaking its way through the river stretching for hundreds of metres and posing a threat to both human health and the environment.
And then we complain of the dirty oceans. They give what they get – Trash.
Just horrible! A river of trash, plastic waste .. as the rain washes down the garbage! In Mumbai the ocean throwing back the trash and in Himachal this! #plasticwaste https://t.co/JVZwfo2pMK

So what is it? Is it the government policy…
The maximum waste generated is from plastic bottles and polybags. The Himachal Pradesh and Utaarakhand Government should immediately ban these two and highlight the use of clay bottle. pic.twitter.com/bt6yf1hkKL

Himachal has zero compliance of Solid Waste Management rules 2016. Also, we have to make the hard choice between ‘development’ and sustainable living. ‘sustainable development’ is a false solution. There is no such thing.

… Or the ever-growing population?
Its us to blame..if we don’t take any measures to control the population of this country, we won’t be able to control such situations in future. Natural resources keep on shrinking every second.
Need an ordinance to check population, everything will fall in place.@rjraunac— rahul chakravarty (@rahul7464) July 15, 2018
Plastic is causing havoc in our lives.
We should become aware for the nature and for our next generation.stop plastic in daily use.

Humans are turning this world’s rivers, lakes, and oceans into a giant cesspool.

Tourism and trekking in the Himalayas has been on a rise and it’s high time we realize our responsibility.
Some places to be banned for tourists to save the nature.

This is what excessive irresponsible, un restricted tourism has done to Himalayas. Time for #ResponsibleTourism #SayNotoPlastics @iluvagra #ILuvAgra

Do we really deserve to live here?
We humans have to blame for this calendar who lost basic common sense. I strongly feel Animals are better civilized than humans, we r destryoying the nature with our own hands. I feel humans dont deserve to live on this planet at all
