It’s only when we see people around us experiencing the true horror and terror that life has to offer and still manage to keep a positive attitude, that we realise how privileged we are. This heartbreaking story of Tamil Nadu’s Karibeeran Parameswaran and his wife P. Choodamani will definitely make you look at this great mystery called life in a whole new light.
It was Karibeeran Parameswaran’s birthday on the 26th of December, 2004, when he lost his three children to a tsunami. The grieving couple was planning to commit suicide, but then, a shining light in the form of caring for the less fortunate gave them a real reason to carry on. Today the couple takes care of 40 orphaned children in their home.
When Karibeeran narrated his story on Aaj Ki Raat Hai Zindagi, a show hosted by Amitabh Bachan on Star Plus, his tale put more than a tear in the eyes of everyone watching. Here’s Karibeeran Parameswaran narrating his story:
