The selfie culture has completely changed the current habits of tourists and humans, in general. No one just wants to look at something cool, we all want a selfie with it. Now, us pointing out this weird trend seems kind of moot, but hear us out.
The selfie craze has reached the point where it can be rightfully called, the selfish craze for selfies. A year ago we heard the heartbreaking news of a baby dolphin’s death because of tourists that kept her out of the ocean, just for a profile picture on their social media page.
Now again, in 2017 something similar has happened.
According to a report in La Capital, a baby dolphin was pulled from the ocean by a horde of tourists in San Bernando, 200 miles south of Buenos Aires. They took it out of the water when it was alive, but you can see in the video how people thought petting it is the right thing to do rather than putting it back in the water. Take a look.
Quite expectedly, the baby dolphin died after the whole paparazzi treatment. According to La Capital, a bystander explained the entire inhumane incident.
He was young and came to the shore. They could have returned him to the water—in fact, he was breathing. But everyone started taking photos and touching him. They said he was already dead.
