A couple of months ago, the world found out how a mall in China has kept a polar bear imprisoned, just so that visitors can look at it and take selfies. And although there have been petitions to help free the animal, none of them so far has managed to do so. Pizza, also known as the saddest polar bear in the world, continues to live a life in pain, far away from its home.
You may know how bad the conditions that he lives in are now, but that is only the tip of an iceberg. What you don’t realize is the kind of life the large bear would have gone through. Probably born somewhere near the North Pole, how Pizza ended up in China is a story that must be filled with tragedy.
This is an animated video that attempts to chronicle the life story of the polar bear. Although telling this story is very heartbreaking, this is a story that deserves to be told. Watch the complete video here:
And though there hasn’t yet been a happy ending to this story yet, there is a ray of hope. A sanctuary in the UK, the Yorkshire Wildlife Park, has agreed to take the polar bear if its current owners, Grandview Shopping Center agree to it. The park has a specially created habitat for polar bears, which currently has four inhabitants. Also, the fact that it is much farther north than China means Pizza is likely to have a significantly better life there.
We just hope and pray that Pizza gets the happy ending it deserves.
