They say that life is all about finding your own paradise. I think, I have found mine. Quite, literally. In recent years, underwater accommodations have become a trend. But this resort off the coast of Tanzania is putting a unique spin on this concept. It has an underwater room which is just like any other hotel room except that – IT FLOATS. And that’s not all. Here’s what makes it special:
The Pemba Island floating hotel room is a part of the Manta Resort in Zanzibar, Tanzania.
This unusual hotel room floats almost 250 m (820 ft) away from the coast and is held in place by several anchoring lines leading to the ocean floor.
It is situated in the center of a blue hole, an area of the coral reef which is approximately 50 m (164 ft) wide.
With lounge and bathroom facilities, the room has also a roof deck that can be used for sunbathing and stargazing as well.
It comprises of a three-story floating structure which has its lowest level positioned four meters (13 ft) beneath the water.
The lowest level features a double-bed with two large windows on each wall to give a 360-degree view of the water around it.
Imagine yourself sleeping in a fully submerged bedroom, or swimming with the tropical fishes.
Breathtaking, isn’t it?
It’s not over yet. Each window has underwater spotlights on the outside that attract and illuminate nearby sea creatures (like octopuses and stingrays) at night, so that guests can watch them as they go off to sleep.
And this is how it looks from a certain distance. Woah!
