Coffee Houses have increasingly become a place to meet new people, friends, family, official clients. A lot of us just sit there in the peaceful atmosphere with nothing but the smell of coffee to accompany us. With this trend on the rise, it was only a matter of time before the companies started cashing it in.

Coffee chains like Starbucks and Cafe Coffee Day lets you enjoy their free WiFi and expensive coffee. The snacks would burn a hole through your pocket as well. Considering we Indians are the masters of jugaad,  it wasn’t a surprise when we heard of this Indian startup catering to this target-group of coffee aficionados.

According to an article on YourStory, there’s a cafe in Bengaluru where time literally costs you money. Dialogues Cafe is situated in Koramangala and is quickly gaining popularity in the startup hub of the country.

Here’s how the payment system of Dialogues Cafe works:

Time is the currency in Dialogues Cafe. You can have as much snacks as you want, enjoy the free WiFi, and spend some alone time with a nice book and you pay only for the time spent there. They charge Rs 190 for the first hour and then Rs 3 per minute, at a maximum charge of Rs 1,000 for a day. There is a weekly plan for Rs 3,400, and monthly plan for Rs 6,900 per head.

You might think that there’s no way there are more perks of visiting that place but the time currency thing is just the tip of the iceberg. The other facilities of Dialogues Cafe include the permission to order food from outside, or bring you own tiffin.

Started initially by Ankit Gupta and Saurabh Priya, Dialogues Cafe has everything you need at an affordable price. Let’s hope that they do well in this venture and we can soon have a chain of Dialogue Cafes all over India.
