I’ll be the first one to tell you, I have a hard time believing in love.
And then this happened – Olympic rivals from USA and Canada hockey teams turned rivalry into romance and got married.
Gillian Mary Apps, an ice hockey player, is a three-time Olympic champion for team Canada.
Meghan Duggan is a also a three-time ice hockey Olympic champion for USA.
Between the two of them they have four Olympic gold medals, 10 world titles and enough love to melt my cold, frozen heart.
I mean, from competitors on ice to partners for life – is this the plot of a classic romantic movie? If not, can someone make it already.
And as if their union was not proof enough that cupid does exist, the photos and messages they shared of the special day made me cry tears of joy (tinged with a healthy dose of jealousy… I can’t even pretend to be saintlike at the moment).
Clearly, the Twitterati felt the same and wishes poured in on social media.
True love overcomes even the largest of rivalries. 🇺🇸🇨🇦️Congrats to @mduggan10 on her marriage to Gillian Apps. 💍: https://t.co/7gXqlrJZto pic.twitter.com/LybTmPOJGX
