Virat Kohli played a masterful innings at the Wankhede in front of nearly 20000 fans to score his 15th Test century. On a pitch that was turning and bouncing, with India facing a daunting task of going past a big first innings score by England, Kohli stepped up to the task and delivered in style.

In the process he also became the highest run-scorer across formats in 2016, going past the 2500 mark. He also went past 1000 runs in Tests for the year.

Here’s how Twitter reacted to a brilliant innings by the Indian captain.

And the best of the lot:

What a player. What a year!
