South Africa are commonly know as chokers in world cricket and their batting display against India in a must-win Champions Trophy match was not much different.

Openers Hashim Amla and Quinton de Kock provided the Proteas a stable start, but the middle-order messed up any hope of getting to a challenging score. And even though India’s bowling was incredibly disciplined, South Africa’s running between the wickets was pretty terrible. Three of their batsmen got run-out and this included AB de Villiers, who sacrificed his prized wicket for a single. He was followed by David Miller and later by Imran Tahir.

The run-out proved to be India’s highest wicket-taker on the day as they bowled out the Proteas for a mere 191 in 44.3 overs.

And as usual, Twitter had a field day given the comedy of errors that led to a mighty South African collapse.
