With a population of 130 crores, the Indian Cricket team has as many supporters. Doesn’t matter if the match is in Australia or West Indies, fans like Sudhir Gautam and members of the Bharat Army make sure every match is a home game for the team. Be it Chahal’s bamboozling googlies or Virat Kohli’s constant gestures of goodwill towards the opposition players (remember how he urged Indian spectators to applaud Steve Smith?), these youngsters always keep raking up fans.
And Volkswagen, as usual, was one step ahead and found a way to connect with people and get them to cheer for our beloved team. Volkswagen started a campaign with the hashtag, #GermanyCheersForIndia to introduce their latest and upgraded range of the Cup Edition cars. But, it all started with German footballer, Thomas Mueller’s tweet, extending his support to Team India.
I wish all participants of the Cricket #WorldCup2019 good luck & thrilling matches. Especially I cross my fingers for @imVkohli, the captain of the Indian team. He`s a fan of @DFB_Team and supported it multiple times in the past 🏏✊😃 #Cricket #GermanyCheersForIndia #esmuellert pic.twitter.com/hwS4apAlIE

Swashbuckling Indian opener Shikhar Dhawan couldn’t hold his excitement…
It feels great to have a world champion cheering for us to conquer the world. Thank you @esmuellert_ for cheering for #TeamIndia and thank you @volkswagenindia for starting the cheer. #GermanyCheersForIndia #WorldCup2019 #VWCupedition #VolkswagenIndia @bhogleharsha

Harsha Bhogle, in his own quirky way, nudged Virat Kohli to let him know about the brand new supporter…
What news to start the World Cup! The Germans are cheering for #India. Hey @imVkohli you have a new set of fans cheering the team. Go #TeamIndia, make us all proud. #Cricket #WorldCup2019 #GermanyCheersForIndia @VolkswagenIndia @esmuellert_ https://t.co/QAH4HU0jwT

And, the more the merrier…
Yes, it feels good when our team is winning, but have you ever felt the joy of having another country cheer for your team? Well, now you can, because Volkswagen did exactly that! Germany’s iconic automobile company got German fans to cheer for Team India, much to our joy.
And, as #GermanyCheersForIndia started trending, support for the Indian Cricket team poured in from football-crazy Germany. In a country where teams like Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund are revered, it was exciting to see people cheer and motivate the Men in Blue to lift the cup!
Honestly, it felt amazing to see other countries rooting for our boys!
Way to go #TeamIndia . Guess who is rooting for you at #worldcup2019 #GermanyCheersForIndia #Volkswagen @volkswagenindia @imVkohli pic.twitter.com/E7sxQ7g1UR

With so much support, the World Cup is surely returning home, you guys!
By bringing people from different cultures and interests together, Volkswagen managed to unite the people of two countries through sports.
The launch of the Cup Edition cars is aimed at reinstating the cheer, fun, and spirit of driving. It has also been launched as a symbol of sportsmanship, that can bring two countries together. The Cup Edition includes some stunning upgraded models for the Volkswagen Polo, Vento and Ameo, and I cannot take my eyes off of them! Check them out for yourself!
