It seems Sachin Tendulkar has taken another post-retirement avatar, this time as a singer. The Master Blaster will sing a song for Bollywood star Sonu Nigam, according to a report in the Hindustan Times.

The song reportedly goes something like this: “Gend aayi, bala ghuma, mara chaka, Sachin, Sachin… nacho nacho sab cricket wali beat pe…”

“I have thanked all the cricketers with whom I have played in the six World Cups,” said Tendulkar according to the report.

Sonu Nigam, for his part, was impressed with how Tendulkar got his pitch right, with ease.

“Singers can’t get their pitch right, to see the master pitching right in the music was heartening. We didn’t have to use a pitch corrector for Sachin,” he is quoted as saying in the HT report.

This was revealed during the launch of Tendulkar’s “Digital Innings”, as he calls it — an app called 100MB which will be a one-stop platform for everything Sachin. He announced that the song will be played on Sunday at 10 pm on this application.

A report in DNA also said that Sonu Nigam has performed the anthem for Tendulkar’s upcoming docu-feature titled ‘Sachin: A Billion Dreams.’

This is not the first time he has shown his affection towards music. He had shared the stage with tabla maestro Zakir Hussain a couple of months back, as well.

Looks like Tendulkar is continuing to enjoy life after retirement.
