Jasprit Bumrah has come a long way since his debut last year. The pacer has established himself as one of the most disciplined bowlers going around. The 23-year-old pacer who was popular for his accuracy and tight line is also ranked the No. 2 bowler in T20s.
But while the Ahmedabad pacer’s reputation continues to rise, his grandfather is forced to drive an auto for survival, according to media reports.
According to the report, Bumrah’s grandfather Santokh Singh Bumrah lives in Uddham Singh Nagar of Uttarakhand. Unfortunate turn of events have forced him to live an extremely difficult situation. The report says, Santokh once owned a big business which included three factories and was assisted by Bumrah’s father Jasveer Singh Bumrah.
Jasveer’s death in 2001 had an adverse affect on their business as Santokh was forced to sell his factories to pay off the debt. Santokh then invested in four tempos, but as fate would have it, he was forced to sell three of them. Now he survives by driving the remaining tempo.
The report also states that the 84-year-old is extremely proud of his grandson and wants to hug him.
