Bowlers have always been an endangered species when it comes to IPL. But the truth is that the team whose bowlers do well does well in the tourney. CSK were the runners-up because they had IPL 8’s best bowler, Dwayne Bravo.

The crafty West Indian all-rounder took 26 wickets from 16 outings and won the esteemed ‘Purple Cap’ for his wicket-taking skills.

What the number doesn’t show is the fact that he bowled all his overs in the death and cherished the role of being a finisher for MSD throughout the tournament.

His economy of 8.14 was absolutely brilliant considering that he used to start his spell in the last 8 overs. His slower-ones and yorkers worked perfectly, hence the honour.
