Sakshi Tanwar is a household name when it comes to Indian TV. With successful TV shows like Kahaani Ghar Ghar Ki and Bade Achche Lagte Hain, she has been a favourite face for the viewers.

She’s in the news again for all the good reasons but this time for personal ones. The actor is now a new mother after adopting a nine-month-old baby girl. She has reportedly named her Dityaa which means Goddess Lakshmi.

In an exclusive with Times Of India, Sakshi expressed her happiness saying,
“With the blessings of my parents and the support of my family and friends, I have adopted a baby girl who would soon turn 9 months old. I am extremely delighted to share my happiness with you as I welcome the bundle of joy in my life. This is undoubtedly the greatest moment of my life and I and my entire family are elated to embrace Dityaa. She is the answer to all my prayers and I feel blessed to have her in my life.”
Sakshi is yet another example of how one does not need to follow age-old norms about how a woman has to be married to become a mother.

Sakshi is not the first to set this wonderful example. Former Miss Universe and actor, Sushmita Sen has been a proud mother to not one but two daughters. She has always been very vocal about how she does not feel the need to have a man in her life to fulfil her duties as a mother.

Single women don’t have to wait for marriage to act on their maternal instincts.
