Our tech savvy Prime Minister Narendra Modi who is widely known for his active presence on social media reached yet another milestone after his number of followers on Twitter crossed 20 million on Wednesday.
With this he becomes India’s second most followed individual on Twitter, surpassing Bollywood actors like Shahrukh Khan (@iamsrk), Aamir Khan (@aamir_khan) and Salman Khan(@BeingSalmanKhan). Superstar Amitabh Bachchan (@SrBachchan) retains the top spot with 20.9 million followers on Twitter. He has also become world’s second most popular leader after US president Barack Obama who has 75 million followers.
The achievement comes close to his government’s second year anniversary which falls on May 26, this month. Since the day he was sworn into office in 2014, he has gained 16 million followers in just two years.
