India’s struggle for independence from a 200-year-old British empire is well recorded in the books of history, as are their cruel and vicious methods to suppress the revolution.
But, it seems like the British never learn. An English journalist named Quentin Letts recently compared the Brexit to India’s freedom struggle.
India in 1947 had rather less difficulty gaining its independence than we are having in 2017 leaving the Brussels empire. Time for Boris to go the full Gandhi.

But followers of history on Twitter did not take very kindly to the comparison of a self-inflicted wound to the 200 years of slavery this country went through.
It is estimated that around 1–2 million people died during the partition of British India. Apart from that, great comparison bro. https://t.co/whUq0KVfKK

15 million people were forcibly displaced and it’s caused pointless enmity between two nuclear neighbours. And oh yeah, Gandhi. But apart from that…

And, oh yeah, the British government of the day caused it all.

Not to mention the 15 million who lost their homes and had to start life ( or what remained of it) anew in a foreign land.

Time for Boris to go on a salt tax protest

Maybe Mr. Letts could benefit from the NCERT history books we read as kids.
