In an utterly shocking incident, the unprofessional and unethical side of the UP police has been exposed on camera.
In Muzaffarnagar district, police allegedly asked a cobbler to polish their shoes for getting his complaint registered. The video captured by an onlooker and posted by ANI, showing an old man sitting on the ground and polishing shoes, has gone viral and caused outrage among people.

Sittu, a cobbler by profession, had approached the Charthawal police station to register a complaint against his missing mobile phone. He was instead directed to shine the shoes of police officers in return, reports Deccan Chronicle.
On learning about his profession, the reader at the police station Rohtash allegedly asked him to first oblige to their demands before they heard his grievances, reports DNA.
The incident has been to brought to the notice of Superintendent of Police Santosh Kumar, who has promised to take the needed action against the accused. He said, “The probe is underway and accordingly action will be taken.”

This is not the first such incident to have occurred in the state. The police officials have been accused of being guilty of tormenting and humiliating a 75-year-old widower, who wanted to file a complaint against his step son and daughter-in-law, by asking him to get married, reports DNA
