A news story about an attack on the caretaker of senior journalist Siddharth Varadarajan’s house is doing the rounds on social media. Which meant that many were tweeting about how the founding Editor-in-Chief of The Wire is being threatened for talking on TV talk shows.
However, as Varadarajan has been clarifying since Saturday morning, it has now been found that the incident happened way back in 2014.
The caretaker of Varadarajan’s Delhi flat was attacked in February 2014 by unidentified men who had threatened, “Tell your sahib to watch what he says on TV.” But the story is now going viral on Twitter for some unknown reason.
