Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Thursday travelled in a Mumbai suburban train, interacted with commuters and also got invited to a wedding by a passenger.
Prabhu, who attended an event at the Central Railway’s prestigious Matunga Workshop, boarded the local train at Currey Road station and alighted at the Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST).

People were in a frenzy trying to catch a glimpse of the Railway Minister and many wanted to get a selfie with him. Apparently, one office-goer was successful in get a selfie clicked, which he then showed it to nearby commuters, reports Mid-Day.
The Mid-Day report also states commuters shared their grievances with Prabhu, most of them lamenting about the abysmal conditions of railway stations and trains, especially the toilets.

The Minister later left for Mantralaya (state secretariat), where he, along with Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, briefed the media on upcoming rail projects in the state.

Prabhu speaking to Mid-Day about the experience said,
“I met people inside the train, and I also got thousands of suggestions and complaints from them. We try to address most of them.
And that’s why the present Railway Minister is as popular as he is.
