Who knew a piece of clothing can determine your religious preferences!

On Tuesday, actress Soha Ali Khan, who is all set to embrace motherhood, celebrated her baby shower and sported a pink Kanjeevaram saree for the traditional occasion. Sharing the happy news with everyone, she posted a picture of herself with husband Kunal on Instagram.

Though many of her followers congratulated the actress on the new phase of her life and wished her well, the choice of her attire didn’t seem to go down well with others. Little did she know, all this happiness would get dampened by trolls.

Soon enough, some people invoking her religion and posted a series of senseless comments, calling her “Not Muslim.” Many thought her attire was inappropriate on the occasion of Eid. Some others slammed her not posting an Eid greeting.

However, several other fans soon came to her rescue:

The trolls were soon overpowered by comments who defended her right to wear what she wants

Such an incident is not new on social media. Fatima Sana Shaikh was also similarly trolled on Instagram for wearing a swimsuit during Ramzan.

Raveena Tandon similarly got targeted by Twitterati for her post on saree where she targeted trolls, who often label her as ‘bhakt’.
