Technology is a great way to connect with people. From Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the Minister of External Affairs, Sushma Swaraj, the Indian government is using the power of social media to address all kinds of public concerns. To our utmost delight, one hopeful passenger was recently helped by the Ministry of Railways and it’s all kinds of praiseworthy.
A passenger named Govind Narayan was travelling to Bikaner in coach number S6 of Barmer Kalka Express on Saturday when he noticed that the train ticket examiner was collecting Rs. 15 from passengers in return for allotting seats to them. However, he was not providing receipts for the same and in fact, no one really cared to ask for it. However, when Govind asked for it, he was told that he would be given the receipt later. On seeing the corrupt nature of the TTE, Govind decided to share this incident with the Ministry of Railways via Twitter.

In a matter of a few minutes, the complaint forwarded to the Divisional Railway Manager’s office. Vigilance Officer Mukesh Gehlot boarded the train at Jodhpur station, spoke to the TTE, checked his record books and forwarded the investigation report to the DRM. After reviewing the whole situation, TTE Shyamlal was suspended by the DRM.
