While Virat Kohli and Co. prepare to battle against Sri Lanka in the upcoming Test series, former India Test skipper MS Dhoni is preparing for another kind of test. The 34-year-old is currently in Agra, undergoing training with the Indian Army’s Elite Para Regiment.
Dhoni – who is still Indian captain in ODIs – is a known army aficionado and was conferred with the honorary rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the Parachute Regiment in 2011. He apparently wrote to the army about taking up the course, and on being granted permission, duly reported to the Para Brigade in Agra for initial training in Para Jump on August 5.
Dhoni seems very enthusiastic about the training and posted this photograph on his Facebook page:

It is reported that after the 2-week course, Dhoni will do 5 parachute jumps. Well, evidently he wasn’t kidding when he said he would join the army after his cricket career. This seems to be the first step towards that path!
