The IIT-JEE (Advanced) results are out and Sarvesh Mehtani from Panchkula, Chandigarh, has secured the all-India number one rank.
According to a report by Financial Express, the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Madras declared the results at 10 am on Sunday.
Sarvesh scored 339 marks out of 366. He had written the exam from IIT-Roorkee zone. He scored 120 in Mathematics, 104 in Physics and 115 marks in Chemistry.
While Akshat Chugh from Pune, Maharashtra, stood second, Ananya Agarwal from Delhi secured the third rank. Chug had written the exam from IIT-Madras Zone, whereas Agarwal from IIT-Delhi zone.
According to The Times of India, as many as 1.74 lakh students out of 2.20 lakh successful candidates from JEE Main 2017 registered for JEE (Advanced) this year. Also, because IITs for the first time conducted the test in six other countries, 500 of them were foreign candidates.
The JEE (Advanced) examination results will determine admission to close to 11,000 seats to all 23 IITs. The seat allotments are expected to begin from June 19.
