Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa, who was admitted to hospital after she complained of “fever and dehydration”, continues to remain under doctors’ observation on Saturday even as her party dismissed reports that the AIADMK supremo will be flown to Singapore for further treatment.
“The honourable Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is under observation,” a morning medical bulletin from Apollo Hospitals Chief Operating officer Subbiah Viswanathan had said.
She was on a a ‘normal diet,’ he added.
On reports in a section of media, including on social media, that Jayalalithaa will be flown to Singapore for further treatment, party Spokesperson CR Saraswathi said, “It is false information. She is not going anywhere…someone is spreading wrong news. She will soon return home”.
Saraswathi pointed out that Apollo Hospitals, where the Chief Minister was admitted late Thursday for fever and dehydration, had issued a statement on Jayalalithaa’s health where it was mentioned that she was on a ‘normal diet.’
Meanwhile, actor Rajinikanth wished Jayalalithaa speedy recovery. “I pray for the speedy recovery of our beloved Chief Minister,” he tweeted in Tamil.
