The Union Human Resource Development Ministry on Monday released rankings of Indian educational institutions based on the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF).
NIRF covered 3,500 different institutes in four different categories and the list was released by HRD minister Smriti Irani. NIRF is the first comprehensive framework to rank Indian institutions on the basis of a set of objective parameters.
The rankings were based on a methodology which drew recommendations from Core Committee set up by MHRD.
The broad parameters used for assessment were:
- Teaching, Learning and Resources
- Research and Professional Practices
- Graduation Outcomes
- Outreach and Inclusivity
- Perception
Here is the list of top ten universities:
