Have you come across a receipt by Sulabh International of a bus stand in Ludhiana that charges an extra Re 1 as Goods and Services Tax (GST)? Well, fake as it sounded, it has turned out to be exactly that.
The issue
Many users on Twitter have been putting a snapshot of a bill for using the Sulabh facilities
One of them is former IPS Sanjiv Bhatt who shared the picture of the bill on Twitter.
The bill, translated from Punjabi, reads:

1 aadmi: Rs. 5
GST: Re. 1
Total: Rs 6
Among the many users who tweeted it out is controversial ex-IPS officer from Gujarat, Sanjiv Bhatt.

ScoopWhoop News talked to AK Singh, spokesperson for Sulabh International in Punjab, who confirmed that the viral receipt is fake. “We don’t even operate any Sulabh facility at the said bus stand in Ludhiana,” he said.
