How much are you willing to spend to have a home in one of the most prestigious neighbourhoods of Delhi? Apparently it’d better be upwards of Rs 400 crore.
The daughter of the real estate company DLF’s chairman has reportedly splurged Rs 435 crore for house in Lutyens’ Delhi, in one of the year’s biggest real estate deals.
According to an Economic Times report, Renuka Talwar bought the bungalow on Prithviraj Road from Kamal Taneja, the managing director of real estate developer TDI Infracorp. The value of the bungalow was estimated to be Rs 383 crore.
While Talwar refused to comment for the article, the report says:
- the bungalow is located on a 4,925 sq metre plot
- it has builtup area of around 1,189 square metres
- Each square metre was effectively sold at Rs 8.8 lakh
There are estimated to be only around 65 properties in the entire Lutyens’ Bungalow Zone spread over 3000 acres that are available for private ownership. The rest are all owned by the government and house government officials.
Talwar’s father and chairman of DLF already owns a bungalow in the prestigious area which he reportedly paid an estimated Rs 280 crore to buy from industrialist Samir Thapar of JCT. The house is on APJ Abdul Kalam Road.
Other private residences in the area are reportedly owned by tycoons like LN Mittal, Naveen Jindal, Sunil Mittal, Shashi and Ravi Ruia of the Essar Group, Malvinder and Shivinder Singh, and Analjit Singh.
