If Budweiser, Hoegaarden, or Stella Artois featured as your favourite brews to gulp, then you might wanna find other drinks.
Because the Delhi government has put a ban of three years on Anheuser-Busch InBev, the world’s largest brewer. And reportedly, the sales of Budweiser, Stella Artois, and Hoegaarden beers will be affected.
As per reports, Anheuser-Busch InBev purchased SABMiller in 2016. SABMiller allegedly supplied beer bottles with duplicate bar codes to city retailers that year, which allowed the company to pay lower taxes.
The barcodes were being duplicated by SABMiller and supplied to the retail outlets to evade payment of excise duty.
Reports further add that both the company’s warehouses in Delhi have been sealed, while no fresh stock of AB InBev beer brands can be sold in liquor shops.
