Anshu Jamsenpa, a mountaineer from Arunachal Pradesh has created history after becoming the first Indian woman to climb Mount Everest for the fourth time. Jamsenpa reached atop the earth’s highest mountain to unfurl Indian flag on Tuesday at 9 am.
The expedition was started after 38 days of acclimatisation at the Everest Base Camp from April 4 to May 12. On May 13, she started her climb and reached the mountain top on May 16 along with Furi Sherpa of Nepal.
“The good news is that she is absolutely well and fine and shall attempt a double expedition,” her spokesperson said, reports India Today.

According to a report by Northeast Today, Jamsenpa conquered the world’s highest peak twice in 10 days between May 12 and 21, 2011. Her third successful attempt was made on May 18, 2013. In 2014, she created history once again by scaling three Himalayan peaks successively in six days.
The 32-year-old Jamsenpa hails from Bomdila in Arunachal Pradesh and is a mother of two girls.
In April this year, Tibetan spiritual leader the Dalai Lama has flagged off Anshu Jamsenpa’s Double Ascent Mt Everest Expedition 2017 and personally blessed her.
