After writer-producer Vinta Nanda accused actor Alok Nath of rape, he has released an official statement.
In an interview with ABP News, he neither denied nor agreed with the accusation, and said this:
“Kuchh toh log kahenge.”
He further added,
“Neither I am denying this nor do I would agree with it. It (rape) must have happened, but someone else would have done it. Well, I do not want to talk much about it as for the matter if it has come out, it will be stretched.”
While being completely aware of what the movement has done, he claimed that people only hear the woman’s side of the story because they are considered ‘weak’.
He reportedly said that Vinta Nanda was a good friend of his back in the day. He also claimed that whatever Nanda is today, it’s all thanks to him.
He added that he doesn’t care what people are saying about and called the allegations ‘absurd’.
He further went on and said,
“It is useless to react on the allegations as in today’s world whatever a woman says, only that will be considered. In such a situation, it would be wrong to say anything.”
