Coldplay finally performed in India. The internet, since the performance, has been flooded with videos and photographs from the event. The concert which took place under the Global Citizen Initiative, also saw artists like Jay Z, The Vamps, our very own A.R. Rahman perform on the same stage. Martin did his absolute best to include Mumbai and India within the concert breaking into Channa Mereya, Maa Tujhe Salaam.

One such attempt was when the lead singer went about his songs with the Indian flag tucked in the rear pocket of his denims. And it did not go unnoticed. An NCP Leader, Nawab Malik was quick to point that out on Twitter. The politician took to Twitter to express his displeasure on Chris Martin’s ‘apparent’ disrespect to the national flag and asked BJP to apologise for it.
#ChrisMartin & #BJP #ShivSena leaders should apologise to the Nation. Was he trying to use the # Flag as Lungi to do Lungi dance. @PTI_News pic.twitter.com/fiSsBapPcV

A few other people on social media also noticed how the British band could get into trouble for it. The video shows the lead singer walk up and down the stage with the flag tucked in his rear-pocket. This is not the first time a celebrity has got into trouble for disrespecting the flag.
They may get in trouble for this. Probably an FIR is coming their way. #GCIOnVh1 #Coldplay #GlobalCitizenIndia pic.twitter.com/2wRvEA34Yj

The band performed some of their biggest hits including Yellow, Scientist, Fix You and Paradise, as an almost 80,000-strong crowd sang along. The group was introduced by none other than the Badshah of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan, and God of Cricket Sachin Tendulkar.
