Tong Phuoc Phuc from Vietnam made a tough decision when he first found out what abortions really were.

While visiting a hospital with his then pregnant wife, Tong Phuoc Phuc noticed a room in which ladies who were clearly expecting would enter but come out alone. It took him a while to realise what was happening and he was devastated.

Disheartened by the deaths of so many, Tong Phuoc Phuc made the decision to personally give the unborn babies a proper funeral.

Originally a construction worker, Tong bought a piece of land on top of a mountain called Hon Thom, in the city of Nha Trang with his savings. For years now, the ornate setting built up by Tong has served as burial ground for over 10,000 unborn babies.

But it’s more than just a burial ground or memorial.

Tong insists that the burial site is meant to touch the hearts of uncertain women. To serve as a reminder to young girls who’re about to make a very tough decision and of all the bodies he’s laid to rest at the site. A decision that’s made tougher indeed but with good intentions behind it.

Tong has thus ended up giving shelter to over 100 orphans.

Some of the mothers who visited the site had no resources to raise a child, so Tong figured the only way he could save those lives were if he took them in. Therefore Tong created a foster home for all the children who would otherwise have met a very different fate, in the hope that someday when their mothers would be in a better condition, the kids can go back home.

But these children are far more than just foster kids. Tong treats the home like one giant family. “I will continue this work till my last breath,” he was quoted saying by The Mind Awakened. “I hope my own kids will continue helping people when I’m gone.”

Can we get more people like him, please?
