From bearing a boy child to maintaining a good body, women are almost forced to sport an image of perfection at all times no matter what. The age of Barbie is over and yet ironically it is not. It seems as if the sole purpose of a woman’s existence is to become what others want her to become.
So, it’s more about women being forced by society to pursue the stereotype of an ideal female body image even if that extends to hurting oneself. This surreal photo series by Jessica Ledwich perfectly sums up the pressures women undergo in society and simultaneously critiques its demeaning impact on the physical freedom of women.
