Robert Downey Jr. is Iron Man. He will always be Iron Man.

The lines between Tony Stark and RDJ had always been blurred but after the Amazon re: Mars conference, they are essentially one and the same person.

This year, Robert Downey Jr. delivered the opening keynote address to all those gathered at the event.

Between robotics and nanotechnology, we could clean up the planet significantly, if not totally, in 10 years. God, I love experts. They’re like Wikipedia with character defects.
-Robert Downey Jr.

After the address, RDJ also announced his Footprint Coalition project.
By Hollywood osmosis, for the last 11 years or so I’ve been steeped in the actual history of AI and space stuff as it happened and is happening in reality… I’m going to get actual smart people around me, and then in 11 years, when I’m 65, if we’ve made a notable dent in what I think is a massive threat to our future, I’m going to throw the nuttiest retirement party you’ve ever seen. And you’ll be invited.
-Robert Downey Jr.

Twitter was of course, very excited about Downey’s Tony Stark like actions to save the planet.

We all know that a major part of Tony Stark’s character development involved working with Artifical Intelligence to save the world. Now, Ultron was a bad result but that is definitely not going to happen in real life. So good luck RDJ!
