Priyanka Chopra’s American television drama Quantico is all set to be renewed for a third season but along with an order for an abbreviated run of 13 episodes.
According to a report filed by The Variety, the creator and executive producer Josh Safran has stepped down as a show-runner on the series and will remain as a consultant for the third season of Quantico.
“My deal on the show was two years only and it’s up. I’m leaving the show in a good place and capable hands,” Safran said.
The reports also suggests that the hunt for a new show-runner for the ABC Studios drama is on in full-swing.
The first season of Quantico may have got Priyanka Chopra her Hollywood break, but the second one turned out to be a bit of a damp squib.
Quantico Season 2 reportedly averaged a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demo over 21 episodes, which is down by 45% in comparison to the first season. It also, as per the report, garnered a 2.8 million total viewers, which is down by 36%.
Earlier, a TRP graph published online by, TVByNumbers.com , also clearly showed that the show has been spiraling down the chart.
After a considerable dip in the ratings of the show, the news of its weekend slot being changed to Monday came about. And later, speculations were rife that the show is likely to go off post Season 2.
Meanwhile Priyanka, who plays Alex Parrish on the show, also took to Twitter to share the news with fans.
