The 65th National Film Awards 2018 have been announced today with Newton among the major winners.
Actor Sridevi has been awarded the National Award, posthumously, for Best Actress for the movie Mom.
The Best Actor (Male) was awarded to Riddhi Sen for the movie Nagar Kirtan.
After winning laurels for his performance last year in Newton, Pankaj Tripathi has won the Special Mention Award for the film.
The movie Newton, directed by Amit V Masurkar and starring Rajkummar Rao as lead, won the National Award for Best Film (Hindi).
Divya Dutta was awarded the National Award for Best Supporting Actress for the movie Irada.
Noted music composer A.R. Rahman won the National Award for Best Music Direction for Mani Ratnam’s Kaatru Veliyidai, as well as for Best Background Score for Mom.
Choreographer Ganesh Acharya has been awarded the National Award for Best Choreography for the song “Gori Tu Latth Maar” from Toilet: Ek Prem Katha.
Baahubali: The Conclusion has won the National Award for Best Special Effects.
