Game of Thrones fans, it’s that time of the year again. The season has ended, Dany has her dragons frolicking next to her, Cersei is still alive, Gendry is still out there rowing somewhere and whatnot. We’re about 10 months away from the next season. Yes, that’s how we measure time now, from one GoT season to the next.

While many interesting things happened on the 6th season of the HBO show, what we can’t seem to get over is how freaking badass Lyanna Mormont is.

The 10-year-old first wooed us when she hosted Jon Snow, Sansa Stark and Ser Davos Seaworth’s entourage in Bear Island. She refused to join their cause at first, even going so far to taunt Jon and Sansa, but then she put her ego on the side when the Onion Knight provided good counsel. 

Isn’t that something other lords of Westeros could learn from her?

Then she was seen on horseback during the actual Battle of the Bastards. How awesome is that? Lord Walder Frey (may his soul never rest in peace) would be ashamed at how he never did any of the fighting himself, while there was a 10-year-old leader who’s way more ‘hands on’ than he could ever be.

And finally, in the last episode of the season, she slayed the world as she gave a rousing speech that shamed half the northern lords of Westeros. The lords of House Manderly and House Glover will probably have nightmares about Lyanna Mormont after they got schooled in honour. 

Lyanna Mormont’s entry into Game of Thrones couldn’t have been better timed. At a time when the entire world is going through a crisis of leadership of sorts, what with all the Brexit and US elections and whatnot, Lyanna Mormont is the leader we can all look up to. All the Donald Trumps, David Caemrons, Hillary Clintons, Nigel Farages better watch out. Even within the ASoIaF universe, she’s probably the only one who you can actually root for without anyone throwing a counter argument at you.

And can you believe this absolute badass is played by this cute little girl?

Her name’s Bella Ramsey. Yes, the actor playing the most loved character has a last name that’s the first name of arguably the most hated character on GoT.
