Malayalam theatre actor, Malavika Mohanan has bagged the lead role in Legendary Iranian Filmmaker, Majid Majidi’s Beyond The Clouds. The film is based in India and will be extensively shot in Mumbai.
Interestingly, the audition pictures of Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone had earlier gone viral on the internet, leading to a speculation about her bagging the same role in the film.
However, putting all the rumours to rest, acclaimed director Majid Majidi has specially handpicked Malavika, a daughter of renowned cinematographer K.U Mohanan, for playing his leading lady in Beyond The Clouds.
Publicists working on the film have confirmed to ScoopWhoop News saying “Mr. Majidi found his leading lady in Malavika as he was looking for a face, that could fit the character.”
Majid Majidi has always been known for weaving magic on screen with new faces. And apart from Malavika, this opportunity could even play a great career launching pad for Shahid Kapoor’s younger Ishaan Khatter who too will be sharing screen space in the film.
